How to Iron On Leather Patches
Leather patches can be heat-applied, but they need a lower temperature and shorter press time than standard iron-on patches. Follow these leather-specific steps for a clean, lasting bond.
- Place the leather patch in the desired position.
- Cover the patch with a thin cotton cloth or Teflon sheet to protect the surface.
- Set the heat press or iron to approximately 320°F (160°C).
- Apply firm pressure for 15–20 seconds.
- Allow the patch to cool completely before testing adhesion.
- If necessary, repeat the process for an additional 5–10 seconds.

- Heat settings may vary depending on the fabric type.
- We recommend testing on a sample garment before full application.
- For items subject to frequent washing or heavy use, stitching around the patch is recommended for maximum durability.
